Market Vendor Workshops

Workshop Registration Form     Market Vendor Flyer     Market Vendor Incubation Program

Crafters, artists, food vendors and growers will gain valuable tools to support a successful business at public markets.

One of the easiest ways to start a retail business is to be a vendor at a craft market, farmers market, or holiday fair. It is also far too easy for would be vendors to write more checks for supplies and business expenses than they take in from their customers.

The East County One Stop Career System and the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department will present training to create and strengthen local market vendor businesses. The workshops will be helpful for farmers/growers, artisans, craftspeople, specialty food sellers, and service businesses that sell in weekend markets. Participants will learn how to:

  • Design successful vendor businesses to make more money
  • Determine the best and most appropriate markets for their business
  • Find customers through market research and marketing techniques
  • Use best practices in retail: eye-catching booth layout, creative merchandising, and customer service
  • Discover financing sources and business development support
  • Build a stronger business through interaction with experienced vendors
  • Learn about expansion of sales through new venues

The 10-series workshops are uniquely designed for vendor businesses. This training is not available anywhere else.

The registration fee for the 10 workshops is $125 for persons enrolling in the entire course. Individual workshops are $25 each.(See the registration form link above)
